About Instructor Dan Neddo, USAF (retired)

Dan has spent two decades as a U.S. Air Force instructor teaching all facets of Combat Survival Training; Water Survival, Desert Survival Training and Survival, Evasion, Escape and Rescue (SERE). He has trained with some of the best specials operations units in the world, Navy Seals, Air Force Pararescue and Army Rangers. It was during his military career, stationed in Korea that he started studying and training in the art of Hap Ki Do at Osan AB under Grand Master Young Sil Chang. He trained five sometimes six days a week and at Grand Master Chang's insistence many times twice a day. After earning his 1st Degree Black Belt and well on his way to 2nd Degree he returned to the U.S. The fire had been lit, and led to studies of Muay Thai and Small Circle Jiu-Jitsu and Jeet Kune Do.

Dan's desire to find the best fighting system led him to The Self Defense Company and Damian Ross (long time student and certified instructor under the late Carl Cestari). What he found was, the most effective style of fighting and how to train and teach these methods properly. Dan has been teaching and instructing almost half his life and only wants to teach what works in real world situations. The system and methods he discovered were developed by, Col. Rex Applegate, William Fairbairn, Dermott O'Neill and Anthony Sykes. They were passed on to Dan through Mr. Cestari and Mr. Ross. These methods were taken from several different combat arts and tested in real world situations.

It was the perfect combination. Dan's love of the martial arts, his proven ability, desire to teach and his commitment to serve his fellow man is what led him to apply and ultimately be accepted into the Professional Instructor Program.
